What place in the world do you never want to visit? Why?
There are so many places I’ve never traveled to.
There are few places I can think I’d never want to visit, one of which would be somewhere without an indoor washroom. My kids will attest to the fact that I typically don’t go … outdoors, and will travel miles to find indoor plumbing.
My youngest daughter, an adventurer by nature, has called me “city girl” more often than I care to hear it. I live in a state in the U.S. where winters can be harsh, and temperatures plummet to sub-zero, and anyone who ever had to stop at a remote rest area in January knows what it’s like. I don’t have to go into detail, but it can keep me in the car until I’m about to explode.
Shy of indoor plumbing, the only other places I don’t have any interest in visiting are those where biting bugs carry illnesses that can’t be cured with a little Calamine lotion or the reptile population is out to kill small children and other human beings. While I love being outdoors, I also like to come back into the house in one piece and without a trip to the emergency room.
I do love an adventure and exploring caves, waterfalls, mountains and prairies, cities, and countrysides are all quite attractive. There really is no place on earth I can say I’d never go. I’d even find my way to the bottom of the ocean if I found someone to take me there, and there was plumbing where I need it.

As a writer, my passion is interviewing people and telling stories. For the past few decades, I've had the opportunity to do just that across a variety of media. Beginning in print journalism, I worked as a contract beat reporter for several years, later getting a Master of Arts in Journalism. I picked up magazine work as a freelancer, writing for a couple of lifestyles magazines, and even joining a graphic artist friend to publish our own city magazine. With the evolution of newspapers into the digital world, I headed back to school again, picking up a technical diploma in Digital Media Arts. There, I learned audio and video editing, content creation, blogging, and picked up part-time work in a couple of radio stations as a reporter and content producer. Later, I moved into television news, where I handled the news assignment desk.
Writing is and always will be my first love. I continue writing features, interviewing people living their best lives, and telling the stories of those who trust them to me.
I am a mom, a grandmother, and am blessed in marriage and life. My husband and I spend time on the water in the summer on our sailboat, and when I can, I am outside in nature on my bike, or walking my dog. I also think dirt therapy is the best kind, and will usually have my hands full with weeding and tending my flower beds.
